VoyageMia Features Manuela Velez

This April 8th VoyageMia, popular community media outlet and supporters of local small businesses and artists, featured Manuela Velez.

In a piece titled Meet Manuela Velez of Miami Brow Bar in Coral Gables Manuela shares her story and answers questions about herself and how she got into the business of brows.

My Calling

Manuela opens up about her combined passion for beauty and commitment to helping women feel more confident and explains how it led her to follow her passion. Manuela often says she knew that this was her “calling” and took a chance to bring permanent and semi-permanent make-up, specifically microblading, less widely known or available at the time, to a wider audience.

A Leap of Faith

In her own words from the article, Manuela recalls “taking a leap of faith” and renting a small space in midtown working with less than 5 clients a week as well as working other jobs to support her dream. At the time, she recognized the power of social media and began consistently promoting her skills online. Manuela’s dedication and talent quickly caught the eye of local women and after a year of transforming faces, building relationships and gaining trust, she needed to upgrade to accommodate her growing clientele.

Miami Brow Bar | Coral Gables

Manuela found a bigger space in Coral Gables and opened Miami Brow Bar’s current location at 183 Madeira Avenue. Though she admits “it hasn’t been easy,” Manuela now oversees four other very talented artists and has grown Miami Brow Bar into one of the busiest permanent makeup salons in Florida, performing over 1000 permanent makeup procedures a year. Manuela has also created an academy on-site where she offers permanent makeup classes to people looking to start their own journey into the profession.

Amazing Employees

In response to the question, “Who else who has played a meaningful role [in this story]?” Manuela graciously gives credit to her “amazing employees.”
